
Kakata, Margibi County—In a series of successful operations, the Margibi County Detachment of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), under the leadership of newly—assigned commander Alex Flomo, has apprehended multiple drug peddlers involved in the trade of controlled substances within Kakata City, Margibi County.

Commander Flomo, who recently assumed his role on June 4, wasted no time in initiating targeted operations to combat the illicit drug trade plaguing Margibi County.
In the first case, the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) based on a court search and seizure warrant on June 8, 2024, arrested a Nigerian national at his Borlola Road Community residence in possession of four tubes of heroin and 10 dispenser plastic of the synthetic drugs called Kush.
The street value of the heroin and Kush drugs seized from suspect Ike Mustapha, 25, is placed at US$2,253 or the equivalent of LD$ 439,335.
Suspect Mustapha has formally been charged with the crime of unlicensed possession, sale of controlled and distribution of narcotic substance in violation of sections 14.85 and 14.89 of Panel Law of the Republic of Liberia following the LDEA preliminary probe. He was, however, forwarded to the Kakata Magisterial Court on Tuesday and subsequently reminded at the Kakata Central Prison pending trial.
In the second raid, the assigned Margibi County drugs enforcement officers arrested a female drug peddler Cecelia Park, 29, of Jambo Village Community in Kakata in possession of 54 wraps of Kush drugs with the street value at US$54 or the equivalent of L$10,530.
In the third, LDEA officers arrested alleged drug dealer Diamond Gibson, 25, for possessing 21 wraps of Kush with the street value placed at US$21 or the equivalent of LD$4,095 and 10 wraps of heroin at the street value of USD$15 or the equivalent of L$2,925.
In the fourth raid, the Margibi County LDEA detectives arrested drug peddler Samuel Paul, 26, at his Trap Jungle community residence in Kakata and recovered 79 wraps of Kush at the street value of US$79 or the equivalent of LD$15,405.
In the fifth raid, LDEA agents apprehended alleged drug peddler Sampson Sumo, 28, from the Jambo Village Community area in Kakata with 11 dispenser plastic of Kush valued at US$366 or the equivalent of L$71,390 which was meant for local clients.
Meanwhile, the suspected drug dealers are presently undergoing investigation at the Margibi County Detachment of Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) in Kakata, Margibi County, and are expected to formally be charged and forwarded to court for prosecution.
As the investigations continue, the Margibi County LDEA boss has vowed that he and his team of drug enforcement officers remain vigilant in their efforts to identify and apprehend individuals involved in drug trafficking—sending a clear message that illegal drug activities will not be tolerated within Margibi County.
At the same time, Margibi LDEA commander said under his leadership, the agency remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the law and protect communities from the scourge of drugs, signaling a resolute stance against criminal elements seeking to under societal well-being.
