Eyewitnesses told FrontPageAfrica that the EPS agent accompanied by one Kelvin Mulbah had gone to the car wash station in pursuit of an unknown culprit who had reportedly snatched his (Gabriel Kamara) fiancée’s phone on the night of Friday, July 10.
“When these men came this morning, they just started chasing Abraham Mulbah (deceased) and one of our friends, accusing them that they were the ones that stole his girlfriend’s phone last night,” explains Forkpah Mensah. “The EPS agent got hold of Abraham and pulled him with his T-shirt towards the vehicle.”
“When the EPS man couldn’t get the stolen phone, he went on to pull off his big knife from his side and stabbed Abraham Mulbah multiple times under his right side of his rib”.

Mensah said that it was at that point that the EPS agent repeatedly requested the deceased to provide the stolen phone, but he pleaded many times that he was innocent, something according to Mensah, agitated the Kamara.
Mensah added: “When the EPS man couldn’t get the stolen phone, he went on to pull off his big knife from his side and stabbed Abraham Mulbah multiple times under his right side of his rib”.
Eyewitnesses gripped with sorry told an FPA reporter that after the EPS agent stabbed the deceased, he intended boarding his vehicle along with his accomplice, Kelvin David, but they were vehemently prevented from leaving the scene.
“Soon the EPS officer and his friend noticed that they were besieged by the angry crowd, he used his knife to threaten the crowd that he would kill anyone that dare to come closer to them and the both of men immediately escaped the crime scene, leaving behind their vehicle,” an eyewitness said.
After the men absconded, some angry residents of Kakata went on the rampage, setting ablaze the EPS agent vehicle and blocking the Kakata-Gbarnga highway with burning tires, thus impeding the flow of vehicular traffic for several hours.
Agent Kamara and his colleague later turned themselves in at the Margibi County Detachment of the Liberia National Police for fear of reprisal from angry protesters.
At the same time, Abraham Mulbah was rushed to the Charles Henry Rennie Memory Hospital in Kakata where he was pronounced dead upon arrival by doctors.
Meanwhile, police authority in Kakata said investigation was ongoing into the alleged phone theft based on a formal complaint filed by agent Kamara but were surprised that the EPS agent would ignore the police investigation and begin his own probe.
A police source, who asked not to be named, revealed that when agent Kamara’s complained that his girlfriend’s phone was stolen at the deceased’s relative wake keeping in Kakata, the police made frantic effort and arrested four persons allegedly connection to the reported theft.
