Monrovia – Montserrado County District 12 lawmaker, Jerry Yorgboh, has dismissed allegations levied against him on Spoon Radio and TV online, describing it as a ploy intended to ruin his character.

Rep. Yorgboh was accused by one of the panelists, Madam Fatima Bintu Sirleaf that he (Honorable Yorgboh) allegedly owes a lady identified as “Ma Deddeh” $15000 and has refused to pay such an amount.
During the conversation on the radio, “Ma Deddeh” who claimed that the lawmaker is indebted to her; failed to provide a single legal document on the show to substantiate her claims made against lawmaker, but went on with verbal explanation of the transaction.
During her phone-in participation on the show, she alluded to not wanting to take on the matter to the radio, but was forced to do so.
The lawmaker wonders who is pushing “Ma Deddeh” to the media instead of pursuing the matter at a debt court if she truly has a genuine claim?
FrontPage Africa has gathered that said transaction took place years back in America before the election of Representative Yorgboh in 2023.
But the lawmaker in a sharp reaction told FrontPage Africa that he doesn’t owe “Ma Deddeh” any money as being insinuated on the show.
Representative Yorgboh said if what the lady is alleging that he owes her is true, the court should be the place to run for redress and not the media.
He sees the lady’s action as an attempt to tarnish his reputation due to personal reasons.
Representative Yorgboh, who is currently in the United States, said that he’s being targeted by Madam Fatima due to what he called personal issues, but did not detail the personal issues.
“For the record, I owe no one money.
America is a Country of law. If she thinks I owe her $15,000 as insinuated by her, the law or the Court is the best place to get redress,” he told the FPA via mobile from America.
Reacting to allegations that he’s using his legislative powers not to pay the money, Rep. Yorgboh said: “How can I use my Representative position of refusal in America which is governed by laws and systems and not position, we need to stop this, it’s not fair,”
He, however, encouraged the parties alleging his indebtedness to take legal action against him, otherwise, he will issue a lawsuit against the lady for dragging his character into the mud.
“I want her to take me to Court since she claimed that I owed her or else I will issue a lawsuit against her and Fatima for Character Defamation,”
He continued as saying, “I have no money for her. In America, we have laws and orders. So, if this lady thinks I owe her, then she cannot go to court?” He asked.
He said the American court system works but her actions tarnishing “my high-earned reputation will not be taken lightly.
He said his legislative power in Liberia has nothing to do with anything in America because America is a country of laws that looks at no position of an individual that goes contrary to the laws of America.
“I’m currently in America on my Second quarterly break interacting with prominent citizens of America on behalf of my people in seeking scholarship and empowerment opportunities for my District. Why can’t Ma Deddeh and Fatima take me to Court but they chose to sit on a Media platform to denigrate me rather than using the laws of the State,”
He disclosed that the issue is currently before his legal team for a possible lawsuit for Madam Fatima and Deddeh respectively.
“I would endeavor to file a suit against Deddeh and Fatima for Character Defamation in the coming days. This is before my legal team already. I owe her no money and her assertions about me owing her are bogus, misleading and it’s intended to tarnish my hard-earned reputation,”
