The event comes after the court had administered oath to a 15-member jury, who were told by Judge Roosevelt Willie to render judgment in the case based on the facts and evidence produced during the trial.
Witness Kennedy told the court including the jury that though she is currently a resident on the RIA Highway she was neighbor of principal defendant Jonathan Williams prior to the murder of the journalists on Du Port Road, Paynesville.
She said that while at sleep on April 15 she got a call from her church mate who also lived in the same duplex that there was an armed robbery in the yard.
According to the witness, when she got the news she went into the living room and peeped through the window when there was no noise she came out and saw defendant Williams.
She added that when she inquired of him, he replied that someone attacked him and when she saw his T-shirt it was torn-up.
“Let me say, that night when I saw Jonathan Williams along with his two nieces he was looking quietly confused,” the witness narrated, adding that she did not see anybody in the yard on the night of April 15 until her arrest by the police April 20, 2018 before she was taken to the LNP headquarters where she wrote a statement concerning the incident.
The prosecution first witness was later cross-examined by the defense counsel, which is headed Cllr. Jimmy Bombo.
The jurors and Judge Willie also crossed examined the witness before she was later ordered discharged by the court for the appearance of the prosecution second witness, Juliana Bracewell.
In the course of witness Bracewell appearance prosecution lawyer, Cllr. Edwin Martin asked that she appear Thursday.
And the request was granted by Judge Willie, who set Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the hour of 9:30 a.m for the continuation of the trial.
Defendants Jonathan Williams, Alice and Edwina Youti are charged with murder and hindering law enforcement respectively but all three defendants have pleaded not guilty leaving state prosecutors with the task to prove the charges against them.
According to the court indictment drawn by the Grand Jury of Monterrado County sitting in its August Term of Court, the three defendants have been charged for the death of Tyron Brown.
