Monrovia — An official of the Federation of Liberian Mandingo Associations in the United States of America (FELMAUSA) is in Liberia disseminate important information about the organization and complete groundwork for the organization’s Councilwoman Hawa Kromah Konneh visit to the country before or after the 2021 holy month of Ramadan.
Kafumba Samukai Kromah who was recently named and appointed as FELMAUSA Awareness Ambassador to Liberia arrived in the country two weeks ago and immediately began meeting stakeholders and unveiled his organization plans to support struggling Mandingo people with school subsidies and small business loans.
Says Kromah: “I’m simply in the country to put members of the Mandingo community in particular and the Liberian populace in general on notice for the long-awaited visit of FELMAUSA Councilwoman Madam Konneh.
He emphasized the aim and objective of his organization as uplifting the Mandingo tribe in Liberia in every aspect, culturally, financially, educationally, and economically.
As part of his duty, Kromah made it emphatically clear that though the organization is named as it is, but that it has historically served and provided aid to Liberians from all walks of life a trend that will continue to be the hallmark of the organization.
He furthered that since his return to the country, he has held meetings with several young folks, including various social clubs about the importance of FELMAUSA around the Gardnerville communities and that the responses he got from them were all very positive and they all vowed to always answer to any call from the organization.
Ambassador Kromah then indicated that the organization is currently working on putting some food items together to be given to members of the Muslim communities in Liberia as they prepare for the holy month of Ramadan.
“The holy month of Ramadan is the holiest and by far the most important month of the year in the Islamic calendar so we have to put together some food items to be distributed among our people here in Liberia to help make our holy month a little easier and comfortable for all of our people,” Kromah said.
He briefly spoke on the existence of FELMAUSA as being founded in 2007 by Liberian Mandingoes based in the United of America, and they as members have done so much for not only members of the Mandingo ethnic group but also for many other Liberians back home.
“Our organization FELMAUSA based in the USA have several times returned to Liberia with medical equipment just to seek the welfare of not only Mandingo but Liberians as a whole, and madam Konneh is coming to Liberia to help make clear to our people some of the development the organization is planning for them,” he said.
