Siaffa Bahn Kemokai, II, the former President of the Federation of African Law Students (FALAS), has been appointed as the Special Assistant to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Republic of Liberia. Atty. Kemokai made history in 2022 by becoming the first Liberian to be elected as the International President of FALAS. He has held several key positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Acting Assistant Minister/Special Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Legal Analyst, Administrative Assistant, and Administrative Officer. Atty. Kemokai took to Facebook on Thursday, June 6, 2024, to announce his resignation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after serving the Ministry for nearly ten years. He stated that it had been an immensely rewarding experience. Throughout this period, he had the privilege to work under the tutelage of three distinguished former Ministers of Foreign Affairs and two Deputy Ministers of Legal Affairs: Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan, Marjon V. Kamara, Gbehzohngar M. Findley, Cllr. Deweh E. Gray, and Cllr. Jeddi M. Armah. He worked alongside some of the most dedicated and talented professionals at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He particularly expressed gratitude to former Minister Ngafuan, who brought him to the Ministry and gave him the opportunity to serve as his Administrative Assistant. He also thanked his two immediate former bosses, Cllr. Gray, the current Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Cllr. Armah, the Deputy Minister for Legal Affairs, for their support and moral advice.
