Monrovia – Sheikh Kouyateh who claimed to have been abused by Mary Broh has expressed dissatisfaction over the Liberia National Police (LNP) failure to include Mary Broh among those charged and forwarded to court for the alleged abuse and assault.
Report by Bettie K. Johnson Mbayo, [email protected]
He said it was unfortunate and disappointing that the police will exclude her because she was the master minder of the assault on him at the Birth certificate center.
Madam Broh who serves as the Director of the General Services Agency also acts as temporary director for the Bureau of Vital Statistics.
Kouyateh accuses her of labeling him “Madingo dog”.
But Mr. Kouyateh told FrontPageAfrica he had gone to check on his brother whom he left at the center to pick up his Birth Certificate at 9:30am when the incident occurred.
The writ of arrest shows that three people namely Timothy Synenkai, Emmanuel Freeman and Cyrus Johnson are charged for simple assault.
The trio were charged for inflicting body injuries on Kouyateh at the birth certificate center.
Freeman told Police that Kouyateh pointed his finger in the face of Madam Broh upon which he (Freeman) tried to stop him but resisted.
Cyrus Johnson another defendant denied the allegation but said the complainant engaged Broh in an argument, but the police said evidence seen on the complainant left them with no other alternative but to charge the defendants with the crime simple assault.
Their alleged crime is in violation of Section 14.21 of the Penal Law.
At the same time a group in support of Kouyateh went at the By-pass entry of the Temple of Justice and the Liberian Police demanding justice and also demanding that Mary Broh appear at the Police for questioning.
