Liberia’s Dep. Police Inspector Represents West Africa At FBI National Academy

Monrovia – Deputy Inspector General of Police for Training and Manpower Development, Col. William K. Mulbah, departs the country March 31 to represent West Africa for three-month training at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy, United States of America.

Col. Mulbah, who spoke with reporters yesterday at the National Police Training Academy in Paynesville, outside Monrovia, promised to represent the region at the highest level and ensure that Liberia is made proud.

Col. Mulbah said his nomination comes after a rigorous vetting process by the Legal attaché, United States Embassy near Dakar, Senegal.

This is the 268 Session of the FBI Prestigious National Academy, Quantico, USA.

He said this is an opportunity for West Africa and Liberia at large, because representing W/A or Liberia would indicate that the security sector is doing well.

“The LNP is pleased to have such representation at the FBI National Academy in the USA.”

According to Col. Mulbah, the three months training will begin on Monday April 3, and end in June.

He said the representation Liberia at the FBI National Academy also shows the level of reforms taking place in the security sector, particularly the LNP.

Col. Mulbah said the training will also highlight legal training, informant development, investigative techniques, ethics, surveillance, interviewing, interrogation, intelligence, firearms, physical fitness, defensive tactics and practical application exercises (arrest scenarios), among others.

Deputy Inspector Mulbah holds a Master’s Degree in Education, a Bachelor Degree in Political Science and has attended several trainings, Seminars, workshops, which has led him to serve as facilitator in police reform at various Training Institutions, but not limited to the Swedish Peace Support Operations Training Center/ Stockholm, The Bramshill Police College /UK.

He also holds several Diplomas and Certificates from other Institutions not limited GIMPA, Kofi Annan International Peace Keeping Training Center, among others.

While in LNP, Col. Mulbah served several positions, including Deputy Inspector- General for Administration, Commissioner for Administration, Acting Commandant of the Liberia National Police Training Academy, Deputy Commandant of the Liberia National Police Training Academy, Head of Human Resource Section, Head of Planning Section, Deputy Head of the Human Resource Section among others.
