Ellen Urges Liberians to Cultivate Patriotism and Hard Work

Monrovia – President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is challenging Liberians to develop the values of hard work and patriotism in the ongoing reconstruction of Liberia while urging the citizenry to be disciplined and exhibit ethical work habits that will contribute to the ongoing reconstruction and development initiatives of Liberia.

According to an Executive Mansion release, the Liberian leader made the statement when she addressed journalists at the Roberts International Airport (RIA) upon her arrival from Kigali, Rwanda on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 where she attended the 27th Ordinary Session of AU Assembly.

President Sirleaf said by cultivating these values, Liberia will follow the good examples of Ethiopia and Rwanda; two African countries she said have developed very quickly adding, “Those two countries have developed because of hard work and disciplined demonstrated by their citizens” President Said.

She also indicated her support for the recommendations of African States to contribute to the effective and efficient operations of the African Union (AU).

She said as a result of her professional experience, she had the opportunity to work in Ethiopia and Rwanda, which have transformed tremendously because of the discipline and work ethic of their citizens”.
