The Editor,
Tears in my eyes reading this FPA story about how our government is treating its citizens in the fight against the Coronavirus in Liberia. This FPA story to air Saturday on the authoritative and informative Liberian African News Service, LANS-720-721-4250 with headquarters in Washington, DC.
Can the publisher of FrontPageAfrica, Mr. Rodney Sieh or the FPA reporter Alpha Daffae Senkpeni who interviewed my fellow Liberian journalist Jeremiah Gayflor for this heartbreaking story please inbox me Mr. Gayflor’s phone number? I am going to launch a fundraising drive for from my listeners to LANS-720-721-4250 beginning tomorrow for him to return to his family in Tapita, Nimba County.
Just imagine the World Health Organization, the World Bank and the US Embassy in Monrovia and other international partners reading this story after they have already provided over $50 million in cash and PPEs to the George Weah-led CDC government and how this man , Jeremiah Gayflor has been used and abandoned?
Some groups in Liberia especially including Human Rights and the Press Union of Liberia need to write to the UN, WHO, Workd Bank, the European Union and the American Embassy offices in Liberia to include copy of this FPA heartwrenching story of how their money given to Liberia is being wasted on corrupt government officials instead of Coronavirus patients and healthcare workers in Liberia.
Liberians politicians have yet to raise concerns on how Corona funds are being misdirected by our government officials.
Good that most countries have closed their borders to international travelers because of the the easy transmission of the Coronavirus. Otherwise, many of our government officials would have used the Coronavirus funds to seek testing and treatment in either Europe, America or elsewhere.
And this facility is supposed to be one of the crown jewels of President George Weah’s accomplishments in less than three years of a state-of-the-art Medical Wonders in Liberia: The much touted #14 Military Hospital in Liberia and the treatment meted out to urgent care Coronavirus patients?
Is anyone listening at the American Embassy when American taxpayers just donated to Liberia $40 million worth of Coronavirus PPEs; $15 million from both the WHO and the World Bank and a Corona patient has to literally pay for Vitimin C pills that were not even available for his treatment? God help Liberia as many more Liberians will die from this virus if how Mr. Gayflor is being treated is how other Coronavirus patients are being treated in Liberia. Just a thought and not a sermon.
