The arrest order, signed by Stipendiary Magistrate Ben Barco, charges Madam Kpahn with Criminal Mischief following a formal complaint from two residents, Benson Kun and Marck Harris.
According to the complainants, the incident occurred on Saturday, April 12, at approximately 3:30 p.m. in the Tech’s Community, a residential area on Bushrod Island. The demolished homes—owned by individuals identified as Mr. Magau and Madam Agnes—were reportedly valued at over US$241,000.
“They didn’t show any court order. They just came and started breaking down the place,” one of the complainants told reporters at the scene.
The writ describes the act as being carried out “criminally, unlawfully, and purposely,” and accuses Madam Kpahn of disrupting public peace and violating the dignity of the Republic of Liberia. The court has ordered the Sheriff to arrest Madam Kpahn and present her before the Monrovia City Magisterial Court for questioning.
The allegations have shocked residents of the affected community, particularly given Kpahn’s past prominence in Liberian public service. Her tenure in government included serving as Montserrado County Superintendent and later as head of LPRC.
As of press time, Madam Kpahn has not issued any public statement in response to the charges.
Residents impacted by the demolition are demanding swift justice, stating that they not only lost homes but also personal belongings, investments, and irreplaceable family memories.
