Todee District, Montserrado County – Serene Health For All mobile clinic took its second medical outreach for the year 2019 to Yarkpah town in Todee district, Montserrado County.
The outreach, which took place on Saturday, August 3, attended to over 300 persons – mostly women, children and the elderly.
Giving an overview of the outreach, the Technical officer at Serene Health Wilfred S. Gwaikolo, Jr stated that the Serene Health does routine medical outreach for hard-to-reach communities that have little or no access to medical facilities.
“Today, we are here to see different groups, children, young people, adults, pregnant women and just anybody who comes to the outreach,” Gwaikolo said.
When asked about what his organization hopes to achieve by during the outreach, Wilfred said that because most of the communities they deal with do not have health care center, Serene Health fills in the gap by reaching out to them.
Serene Health outreach focuses on maternal health program, health awareness and behavioral change program but medical outreach remains the group’s signature program.
Food items and clothing were also distributed to some of the mothers for their kids, and the organization says it will embark on its next outreach in October of this year.
