Speaking to FrontPageAfrica, Mr. Garsini expressed confidence in the Ministry of Health’s ability to implement appropriate measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
“We remain confident in the ability of the Ministry of Health in Liberia to employ appropriate actions to avoid the spread of the disease. Their expertise and readiness are crucial to ensuring public health safety,” Mr. Garsini noted.
He disclosed that it has adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available and is prepared to utilize these resources as necessary to respond to any developments. It also committed to sharing these resources with other health facilities should the need arise.
“As part of our response plan, the Center has stocked sufficient PPEs and is actively putting in place preventive and control measures to protect both patients and staff,” he added.
Mr. Garsini emphasized the importance of swift and coordinated public health interventions to mitigate risks and prevent further infections.
He also issued a call to the public, encouraging vigilance and strict adherence to guidelines issued by national and local health authorities.
“We urge the public to remain vigilant and adhere to guidelines provided by health authorities to ensure their safety and well-being. Together, we can overcome this challenge and safeguard our health,” Mr. Garsini added.
The Ministry of Health is yet to release a detailed situational report, but public and private health institutions across the country are beginning to scale up prevention and awareness efforts in response to the emerging health threat.
