Chief Allen speaking on Friday, December 4, before a crowd of partisans and supporters of the CDC who thronged the Nancy B. Doe Sports Stadium in Kakata to grace the party’s launch of its senatorial campaign in Margibi County, dispelled rumors that the Party’s Standard Bearer Pres. George M. Weah was supporting the senatorial bid of former House Speaker Emmanuel Nuquay instead of its candidate Ivar K. Jones.
“We want to make this clear; we been hearing rumors that Emmanuel Nuquay is a friend of the President, but Mr. President please inform your friend Emmanuel that we intend to defeat him and put a nail on his political Casket”, Chief Cyril Allen vowed amidst applause from the cheering crowd.
The tough-talking Chief Allen also threw jibe at incumbent Senator Oscar Cooper whose position is up for grasp on December 8 that the Senator failed to build alliances to foster his preparation for his reelection during his nine years incumbency.
“Part of preparation is to form alliance with other political parties and have friends between and amongst your peers. Your inability to build friendship in the Senate and your incapacity to foster the image and agenda of Margibi County rendered you as a useless candidate for this democratic process,” Chief Allen said.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the ‘Governing Council’ of CDC boasted that the party has presented a young and dynamic leader, a patriot, nationalist and a team player who understands the wellbeing of the people.
He maintained that the Margibi County senatorial post is with no doubt winnable for the CDC due to the establishment of effective campaign groups comprising of young people and other dynamic Liberians committed to the party and the government’s national agenda.
He implored the people of Margibi County to vote Rep. Ivar K. Jones on December 8, vowing that when Mr. Jones is elected as Senator, he could accelerate the development drive of the County.
Continuing, Chief Allen stated: “It is important and essential that people recognized that the Coalition for Democratic Change is a party of opportunity and we expect that all those who are enjoying the benefits of nomination and participating in our government should be supportive of our agenda”.
He stressed that it’s unfortunate to have people enjoying tax payers’ compensation and trying to undermine and tear down the same government that the party is thriving to build.
“We call on all to join in the process of building our nation. You cannot say because you are an opposition so you are going to tear down the government of the day; you cannot say because you are opposition anything that the national government wants to undertake becomes a taboo to you. He noted. “You are making effort against a government that was duly elected through the International Community and International media denigrate our government and insult our national leaders. How do you expect us to govern when you are out there tearing down the government?”
