Eyewitnesses told reporters that Sundaygar got intoxicated on the evening of Tuesday, October 9, before reaching his home where he and his late wife had resided.
Those eyewitnesses further stated that Sundaygar allegedly attempted forcing his wife to have sex with him.
“Yahn refused to do it; they started fighting. He beat her until he killed her,” explains one of the eyewitnesses.
The eyewitness narrated that Sundaygar allegedly beat his wife’s head continuously until the victim went unconscious but later came to and did something strange.
According to him, Sundaygar’s action got his fellow villagers angry and attempted calling officers of the Liberia National Police (LNP) but the victim pleaded for her husband, saying he should only take her to hospital. As they made arrangement to take her to the hospital, she slipped back into unconsciousness.
Alphonso Gee, Town Chief of Barconie, told reporters that Sundaygar and his wife were both intoxicated with alcohol before going into their fight.
Gee mentioned that when they heard that Sundaygar had beaten his wife and that she had gone unconscious, he and others rushed to the scene to help her get to intervene.
“When I got the news, the community dwellers and I immediately rushed Yahn to the hospital but she was also intoxicated and so the doctors could not treat her immediately. Sadly, she didn’t come through. She died,” he narrated.
The Town Chief added that when they got the information that the lady had died, they wasted no time in apprehending Sundaygar and turned him over the Police.
