According to the students, enrolling at LICC was a decision well-made, as the college has proven to be an excellent place for achieving their educational goals in the rural parts of the country.
“For us, choosing this university to pursue higher education was not a mistake; it was the best decision we made to get educated,” the students shared.
They also praised the institution for its quality teachers, who contribute significantly to their education.
During a tour of the facilities, FrontPage Africa’s Nimba County correspondent noted that the university boasts a clinic for both students and staff, modern reading rooms, a computer lab, and a conducive learning environment, among other amenities.
Speaking to reporters in his office, Dr. Nuwoe James Kiamu, President of LICC, attributed the continued development activities at the institution to support from the United Liberia Inland Church Associates and Friends (ULICAF).
He disclosed that ULICAF is providing substantial support for the ongoing development at the university, which they are proud of.
Dr. Kiamu also mentioned that the administration is awaiting a final meeting with other stakeholders to officially launch the nursing program. Currently, the Christian institution offers full degrees in Agriculture, Business, Education, and Theology. The anticipated nursing program will enable them to offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSC), among other courses.
The Liberia International Christian College (LICC) was the first higher learning institution to establish itself in Ganta, Nimba County, paving the way for other institutions to follow.
Graduates and current students alike continue to boast of the high-quality education they are receiving, emphasizing that bribery and inappropriate relationships between teachers and students are strictly prohibited at the institution.
During a recent graduation ceremony, Dr. Kiamu announced plans to make LICC one of the best learning institutions in the rural parts of the country, particularly in Ganta, Nimba County. He also disclosed plans to offer Master’s and Doctoral programs at the institution.
Dr. Kiamu urged Nimbaians, including residents of Ganta, to take advantage of the facilities, especially high school students preparing to graduate.
In a joyful mood during the interview, Dr. Kiamu revealed that the institution has embarked on the construction of a modern three-story building, which will bring the total number of three-story buildings on the main campus to three.
