The newly announced committee, known as the We the People Action Fund, is tasked with mobilizing financial resources to support outreach activities, protest logistics, and materials such as T-shirts and banners.
It brings together 31 Liberians from across the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, and Liberia.
Palleh Wreh-Toe of the United States is serving as chairperson of the committee, while Sando Pensor of France has been named secretary. Other members are drawn from Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and several parts of Liberia.
According to organizers, the fundraising effort will be powered by a GoFundMe campaign expected to be launched soon. They say contributions will help ensure that the protest is effectively organized and that the voices of ordinary Liberians are amplified.
The July 17 protest is being positioned as a peaceful demonstration intended to call for improved governance, transparency, and accountability in the country. Organizers describe the effort as a grassroots movement representing the frustrations of everyday citizens.
Committee members have pledged to conduct outreach within their various communities to encourage solidarity and support among Liberians in the diaspora.
The goal, they say, is to rally widespread backing for a demonstration they believe reflects the growing concerns of citizens both at home and abroad.
