Malison Garpeh is currently before the Liberia National Police undergoing an investigation into an allegation for allegedly murdering his girlfriend 21-year-old Promise Gowah, who was six months old and pregnant along with his six-year-old daughter.
The incident reportedly occurred on the night of September 27, Friday, at White Plain Community in Caldwell while residents were asleep.
However, Malison has yet to give an account to the media on the allegations surrounding him, but there are two conflicting pieces of information surrounding the alleged murder act.
Following the discovery of the lifeless body of Promise on Saturday morning, September 28, some bystanders told FrontPageAfrica that the perpetrator had earlier complained about his late girlfriend being in an extra relationship and is alleged to be pregnant for another person.
However, on Tuesday, October 1, some individuals who claimed to be family members also informed FrontPageAfrica that the deceased was washing the perpetrator’s clothes and discovered a traditional charm, which she engaged him about that led to confusion and that he left the area and returned the same night to allegedly carry out the act.
The alleged perpetrator, Garpeh, was residing in an apartment situated in Caldwell, belonging to a lady who first became alarmed about the situation after she received information concerning the death of the lady and her child.
The tragic incident occurred at their home, after which the suspect fled to an undisclosed location, sparking a police manhunt.
After days of intense search, the LNP apprehended Garpeh on Monday, September 30, 2024.
The two have reportedly been in a relationship for some time now, FrontPageAfrica gathered.
The shocking nature of the crime has stirred outrage in the community, with many demanding justice for the victims.
As the investigation unfolds, the public awaits further details on the motive behind the horrific act.
Police Spokesperson, Cecelia Clarke, told the media Tuesday, that the investigation is still ongoing, and following the conclusion of the investigation, the findings would be brought to the public.
Meanwhile, FrontPageafrica has received information from within the corridors of the LNP, that the alleged perpetrator, Garpeh, is expected to be charged and forwarded to court on Wednesday, October 2, for prosecution.
Our police source noted that Garpeh admitted to the commission of the crime.
