Monrovia – Sinoe County is poised to benefit from an investment of 35.7 Million United States Dollars for the first phase of their investment.
The disclosure was made Sunday by Rep. Alex S Noah, District Three lawmaker during his Thank You Tour.
Speaking to citizens of Gballawein City in Sinoe, the lawmaker said upon his visit in
Ethiopia with family former President, George M. Weah where about 40 Countries met at an honoring ceremony, he had a conversation with authorities of the African Project Group (APG), a United Kingdom based investment Company that deals into oil production.
The lawmaker said the investors are expected in Liberia early August of this year.
According to him, the first phase of the investment will focus on ensuring that the agreement deal is sealed, building of camps, clearing of the bushes and building of schools.
He told the citizens he hopes that the expected company will be even better than GVL and employ many of their citizens.
He said, “ If you get your own jobs, you will not wait for people to bring small, small money for you. You will use your work to build your house, send your children to school and do your business. That is the kind of thing I want to do.”
The Sinoe County District three lawmaker said he might not have to provide for everyone but his lawmaking power given by the people will be effectively used to empower the people of the district.
Upon hearing the news, the citizens were seen in a joyous mood.
They appreciated their lawmaker for seeking such an opportunity for people of his district in particular and Sinoe County in general.
