Man Arrested with Ammunitions at Liberia-Guinea Border


Ganta-Nimba – Joint security guards assigned at the Ganta-Guinea border have arrested a 42-year-old man with 650 rounds of single-barrel gunshots.

Suspect Fester Brimia was arrested with 650 single barrel gunshots, three water pump machines, three cartons of cigarettes and US$2,510 as he was travelling from Guinea to Liberia. The driver was briefly detained but was later free to go. 

The 42-year-old man according to report own a gold mine in the south-east and he was traveling with those items for business purpose and he was arrested yesterday at 5; 30PM on June 2, 2019 but he is yet to be charged by the joint securities assigned at the border.

Our correspondent said after the joint securities agree to tuned over suspect Fester Brima to the Liberia national police assigned in Ganta to launch an investigation where they have gone at the border to received suspect Brima but custom officer who was seem at the office demanded that his office will not release the suspect until  they investigate him to pay for others fees but in the process journalist who have gone there was stop by some of the securities at the border not to get any information from the suspect. 

According to our Nimba County correspondent, the arrest of suspect Fester Brima brings to two with in less than a year by the joint securities assigned at the border.

Of recent a Guinean driver was arrested with over ten single barrel guns at the same border and was send to Sanniquellie but was release within with in less than a week by the eight judicial circuit


Some sources at the border told our Correspondent in the County Guinean driver suspect only identify as Mohammed.

 that the Guinean drivers are the want that are allegedly been involved with the imputation of single barrel guns into Liberia.

Some resident who spoke with our correspondent explained the arrest of said items have created panic among the citizens.

Ezekiel Boe and Eric Johnson noted that the pending June 07 protect is still at-head and the arrest of suspect Fester Brima is not a good things for them.
