
Ganta – Demonstrating his belief in staying connected to his roots, Liberia’s Vice President, Jeremiah Koung, has embarked on a tour of Ganta, Nimba County, where he expressed delight at the ongoing development in the city.

On Friday, Vice President Koung visited several business establishments in Ganta, where he extended his thanks and pledged the continued support of President Joseph Boakai’s administration to the city’s growth. Koung urged local businesses to maintain their efforts, noting that Ganta has seen significant development and will continue to thrive.
“I’m so happy to see you all engaged in development activities across the county,” VP said. “You continue to impact the lives of Nimbaians and Liberians in general. The government has plans for this city, so please continue the good work. I’am a witness to your efforts and will not forget them.”
FrontPage Africa has learned that Vice President Koung is also expected to visit and identify with victims of recent floods and fires in Ganta and other parts of Nimba County.
Several residents and business owners in Ganta expressed their joy at the Vice President’s visit. Many appreciated his willingness to walk among them and recognize their efforts.

Business owners such as Madam Yei Gwaikolo, Madam Fatu Kehzie, and Justina Yormie were among those who extended their thanks to Vice President Koung for his goodwill. They noted that the visit, which was not prompted by any formal invitation, was a first of its kind and brought happiness to their lives.
“This is the first time we’ve had the chance to greet and shake hands with the Vice President, and it means a lot to us,” one business owner said.
Following the Vice President’s visit, Ganta’s City Mayor, Samuel Saye Hardt, welcomed the country’s second-highest official and pledged the continued support of Ganta’s residents for the Vice President and the Liberian government. Mayor Hardt described the tour as a source of hope for many, as it was their first time meeting the Vice President in person.
