Totota, BONG COUNTY — The Thomson Development Alliance, a non for profit organization based in Salala District, has concluded phrase four of its Internship program, with sixty school-going children benefiting.

Established in 2011, the organization has been involved with the provision of scholarship and internship opportunities for students in Salala District.
The initiative is being sponsored by Hon. William Telebo Thompson.
The internship program is a one-month capacity building initiative that helps students acquire first hand-job experience while in high school.
The beneficiaries of the internship program were drawn from seven high schools in Salala District, including Ernest Jerome Yancy Multilateral High, Totota Lutheran High School, Salvation Army High School, Martha Tubman High School, Joseph B. Momo Memorial and Technical School System, Upper Room Christian Academy, and Flehla Public School following a fair and robust vetting process.
This number has added to the more than 200 students who have already benefited the three previous editions of the initiative.
Those recruited were assigned at different institutions in Salala and other parts of Bong County that align with their specialties to explore and develop their career.
At the end of the internship, TDA opened a bank account for each of the beneficiaries and credited their accounts with ten thousand Liberian Dollars. They were also awarded certificates of achievement for their participation and adhering to the values of the TDA during their one-month internship.
Guest speaking at the occasion, Madam Jemimah Elizabeth Eshum, commended the TDA for the initiative and encouraged the students to apply the knowledge acquired during the one-month internship with the TDA for the betterment of their lives. Madam Eshum assured TDA of her commitment to supporting the organization to achieve its goals.
For his part, the Chief Executive Officer of the Thompson Development Alliance, Hon. Thompson Telebo Thompson lauded the students for being committed to their growth and development. He at the same time extolled partner institutions for accommodating students sent to them by the TDA.
He put the total cost of this year’s program at more than 1.2 million Liberian Dollars, including all costs necessary to the successful conduct of the program.
In separate remarks, some of the students expressed gratitude to TDA for the internship program; adding that it will add significance.
