The groundbreaking ceremony, held in Tuankan Town within Tukpablee Administrative District on Sunday, was attended by a large crowd of residents, local officials, elders, and community leaders.
The rehabilitation project, a collaborative effort between the two lawmakers, will focus on critical roadways, including Tuankan Town to Botota in Tukpablee, Botota to Gbarta in Boinsein, Rock Crusher to Benajorproi Town in Kokoyah, and Gbecon to Kilikpala Town.
A motor-grader will remain in the district for 60 days to ensure the swift progress of the project.
Rep. Koinah highlighted the significance of the project in providing much-needed relief to market vendors and pedestrians, particularly as the rainy season approaches.
He also announced plans to extend the road rehabilitation from Gbenequelleh in Electoral District #2 to Tuankan Town, further improving access within the district.
Senator Kpehe, in his remarks, reaffirmed his commitment to the development of Bong County, urging residents to support growth initiatives. He also commended Rep. Koinah for their strong partnership in advancing the county’s infrastructure.
In a related development, ArcelorMittal, in collaboration with the Bong County Legislative Caucus, has commenced the long-awaited rehabilitation of the LAMCO Camp to St. John road, an essential economic route that has been in disrepair for over a decade.
