Ganta, Nimba County – The Women and Children Division of the Liberia National Police (LNP) has arrested and sent to court a 37-year-old pastor of the Royal Apostolic Church in Christian Community in Ganta, Nimba County for alleged rape.
Pastor Lowise Lulu Donzo, who is alleged to have falsely presented himself to the police as Lowise Falapay Fanandex, was arrested Saturday, July 13, at the Ganta-Guinea border while trying to crossover to Guinea with the 14-year-old teenager.
The Royal Apostolic Church senior pastor, who said he did his clerical training in Nigeria before coming to Liberia, has lived for two years in Ganta before the alleged incident.
According to our Nimba County Correspondent, Pastor Donzo was reportedly trying to crossover to Guinea with the intention of carrying the 14-year-old to his (Donzo’s) ‘spiritual mother’ in other for this ‘mother’ to offer prayer for the child.
It was while going through security formalities at the border before he was arrested by the joint security personnel assigned at the border. He and the girl were subsequently turned over to the Women and Children Division of the Liberia National Police detachment in Ganta. It is reported that he told police the teenaged girl is his wife.
The Royal Apostolic Church pastor, according to police charged sheet, has allegedly been in sexual relationship with the 14-year-old girl for over two years.
He has been forwarded to the Ganta Magisterial Court and might be sent to the Sanniquellie Central Prison.
Our Nimba County Correspondent said the arrest of Pastor Donzo brings to nine alleged rapists, who have been arrested in Ganta and surrounding towns within five months.
A record from the Women and Children Division lists 43-year-old Kamanseh Nya, a resident of Larry Village on the Gbarnga- Ganta high-way was arrested for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl and 36-year-old Sunday-boy Suah was arrested for allegedly raping his stepdaughter and impregnating her.
A 23-year-old Nigerian identified as Trokon Hawe allegedly raped a 10-year-old girl in Ganta and Nya Borbor, 42, a resident of District #2 along the Ganta-Sanniquellie highway, was arrested for allegedly raping his 7-year-old daughter.
A 32-year-old Pastor Prince Nuah was recently arrested for alleged rape. He is presently undergoing court trial.
