The goal of this program is to boost Liberia’s revenue base, increasing the national budget to support President Joseph Nyemah Boakai’s developmental agenda, known as ARREST. By generating more revenue, the Ministry aims to fund essential areas like healthcare, infrastructure, education, and increase civil servants’ salaries.
Assistance Minister Momo Highlights Technology Integration
Assistant Minister for Administration and Insurance, James Karpu Momo, stated that the Ministry plans to introduce new technology, including digital QR code systems, digitized license plates, and enhanced vehicle inspection systems. This advancement aims to improve internal control, boost revenue collection, and reduce traffic congestion.
“Our focus as ministers and staff at the Ministry of Transport is firmly on boosting revenue collection and implementing internal control systems,” said Momo.
The inspection team, led by Momo, has already visited Nimba and Bong Counties and will proceed to Lofa, Grand Gedeh, and Margibi counties. The inspections include a thorough compliance assessment of concession companies in these areas, with Momo emphasizing the companies’ willingness to cooperate.
