Kokoyah District, Bong County — The Public Relations department of the Turkish Mining Company MNG Gold has ended a joint meeting with a cross section of residents concerning the vocational school, the clinic, solar panels, motorcycles, the Sayewheh Town water victim, the Dean’s Town and Sayewheh Town Halls, and rehabilitation of road in the district.
The presentation of the meeting was done by the Public Relations Officer, Matthew N. Gbanken. Gbanken said that while they were awaiting for all needed equipment for road to be available by June 2022, the government and PR department of the company granted the permit by the General Manager, Mr Cem Koray, to embark on community roads, and bridges be constructed at standard level.
Regarding the clinic, Gbanken said the clinic will be delegated to the district by June 2022, adding that the reconstruction of the last two vocational school buildings are ongoing and are being zinc.
The solar panels second batch, according to Gbanken, has already been purchased while five pieces of the motorcycles will be distributed.
Regarding the Sayewheh Town water victims, their houses, he said contract agreement has been approved by the General Manager of the company.
In remarks, Isaac Weah, the Town Chief of Bahn Town, requested that due to the rainy season the company should work speedily on bridges that are being constructed, including Sayewheh Town through Yolo Town to Zaryee Town.
He also requested that the company must see reason for the international scholarship beneficiaries first batch to go for the study, and he that he wants to know the beneficiaries.
Also speaking, Rev. Isaac Dean appreciated the Company for all great works done in the district, but requested that the Memorandum of Understanding be revisited due to the under ground Mining which is not in the MOU.
MSP/ LAN secretary, Mr. Andrew Camue said that the Community should be able to appreciate the company for the current developments initiative in the district. Also, elder Peter Galah thanked the company for giving help for Dolo Town Public School. He stated that Mr. Dua Karnga is a member of MSP and claimed citizens are not interested in Mr. Dua Karnga to be part of the Kokoyah employment Committee.
Wilfred Gbanquoi stated that he is one of the tuition aids beneficiaries, and thanked management of MNG Gold for the great support, but said the company must see reason to increase the tuition aid to students.
Also speaking, The commissioner of the district, Dennis Chappy, lauded the company the five motorcycles and the two hundred and fifty pieces of solar panels, and added that they are awaiting nanagement for the second batch of the motorcycles and the solar lights.
