The model is captioned, the Platinum Master Card and geared to attract value seekers who travel around the world and spend more money but intend to get some back, said Olalekan Balogun, Chief Executive Officer of UBA.
“This card is for value seekers, most especially people who travel around the world. With the card, you will have those needed opportunities elsewhere,” Mr. Balogun stated.
At the launch of the Platinum Master Card over the weekend, Mr. Balogun noted that the card provides needed opportunities for people in the business sector to easily purchase.
These opportunities, according to him, range from traveling, shopping, shipping, ordering of food as well as car rental while out of Liberia.
Balogun noted that the card has different features from the Classic Card and comes with ad advantage of purchase protection which the classic card do not have.
He further noted that apart from being introduced for the first time to Liberia, Platinum Master Card has been operating in Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana.
According to him, the purchase protection is guided by an insurance process that enables value seekers to get funding back.
“The card is different from the classic ones currently being used in Liberia due to its uniqueness and the cost for insurance fee is US $100.00,” Mr. Balogun said.
Balogun maintained that with the payment of US$ 100.00, the insurance fee is value for a period of five years while monthly charge is set at US$5.00.
He said: “You can apply for the card online and in 30 days, you will get it.”
He said the card is not for those who are not value seekers due to the levied associated with it.
The UBA CEO wants value seekers in Liberia to take advantage in using the Platinum Master for effective purchase transaction.
Also making remarks, the General Manager of Aminata and Sons, Aminata Sackor lauded UBA for the initiative, stating that it speaks volume to innovation the company continues to bring in the Liberian banking sector.
“I’m glad to see this kind of initiative coming to Liberia and Aminata and Sons supports this process,” Madam Sackor averred.
