Monrovia – In line with is overall objective to support the Liberia’s pro-poor agenda, Orange Liberia has announced a new bundle which it is calling “the cheapest and most affordable bundle in Liberia.”
The new promotion, which is called “the small thin” bundle offers calls and SMS for as low as ten (LD 10) and thirty (LD 30) Liberian dollars.
The official launch of the new promotion was held at the Nancy B. Doe Market and coincided with the global celebration of International Women’s Day, which Orange was celebrating by injecting cash into the Orange Money account of 100 Liberian women who had opened Orange Money accounts during the week.
Speaking during the program, the Corporate Communications Strategist for Orange Liberia Dr. Kimmie Weeks said that Orange had created the LD 10 bundle in realization of the economic challenges a lot of Liberians continue to face.
“While we will continue to run promotions like the 3 days free calls campaign, we also know that there are lots of Liberians especially in the rural who may still not always be able to afford $1, but need to urgently reach out to their friends, family or business partners.
These new bundles for LD$10 and LD$30 essentially makes it easy for all Liberians to be able to communicate whenever they want.”
He stated further that one of the reasons why Orange had decided to sell its most affordable bundle in Liberian dollar was as a way of appreciating and giving added value to the Liberian currency.
Dr. Weeks mentioned went on to say that Orange has always been a supporter of progress and development in Liberia.
“As the new government rolls out its pro-poor agenda, these bundles are strategically placed to benefit and empower target segments of society who the government’s pro-poor agenda is attempting to uplift.”
Mr. Aaron Glay, Sales Manager at Orange Liberia elaborated that the new LD$10 bundle provided customers with 10 minutes of call time and 10 SMS while the LD$30 bundle give customers 30 minutes of call time, 30 SMS and 5 minutes to other networks.
He explained that the bundles had to be activated via Orange Money.
“To activate either the LD$10 or LD$30, dial *144# to enter the Orange Money menu, select LD$ currency, and then select “Buy bundles” to see the option to purchase any of the two.”
Glay further elaborated that thanks to Orange Money activation, customers would get the value of each and every Liberian Dollar they would spend.
“No need to buy scratch cards and pay them more than their face value. Cash in LD$10 or LD$30 in your Orange Money wallet and buy the bundles for exactly that price, not a dollar more.”
Glay encouraged customers who did not yet have an Orange Money account to visit any Orange Money agent, Total service station, Orange POS or Orange Store to sign up.
He stressed that with Orange Money, customers could do plenty of things such as cashing out money, sending money to any number (even if it was not registered with Orange Money), making purchases at various stores/supermarkets or purchasing LEC.
