Monrovia – Liberia’s leading mobile Telecommunication giant, LoneStar Cell MTN has commenced the celebration of its 15 Anniversary with the unveiling of it ‘Anniversary Logo’.
Speaking during the ceremony at the Bella Cassa Hotel in Sinkor, Monrovia, the Chief Executive Officer of LoneStar Cell MTN, Mr. Babatunde Osho said the institution is proud to have kept the promises it made to Liberian about 15 years ago.
“When we entered the Liberian market 15 years ago, we made a commitment to journey with the Liberian nation, expending our network throughout the country, and introducing world class services that would transform the lives of our valuable customers in the country, and today, I am pleased to say that we kept those promises”
Recounting the company’s achievements Mr. Osho said, “We were the first GSM Company to open our door to the public in August 2001; the company and its dedicated team of 50 employees, brave uncertainty during the conflict years to connect customers. S
tarting with 17 towers constructed by LoneStar Cell engineers and technicians, the company connected Monrovia, Harbel, Brewerville Kakata, RIA Paynesville, Virginia, Freeport and the freeway.”
The LoneStar Cell CEO boasted that the company has the most popular brand, adding that the brand symbolizes progress.
This is evident with the company leading the way in the provision of innovative products and services, market shares, Customer service, talent management and investment in sustainable corporate social investments initiatives.
Also speaking at the program, the Chairman of the Board of Director of LoneStar Cell MTN, Mr. Benoni Urey frowned at the wave of criticism against him and the company.
Mr. Urey said it unfortunate for Liberians to denigrate their compatriots who are succeeding in business.
He added that it is better to compliment rather than tearing them down.
“We have been prosecuted socially and politically for our success in business. We need to praise successful Liberians for their innovations and not launch attacks on them because we hate them.”
Mr. Urey also clarify that his recent communication to the president was not meant to terminate the 3 days call service of any network provider but to ensure that all GSM companies pay taxes on the free calls being offered.
He noted that LoneStar Cell MTN has the capacity to offer services beyond three days for one dollar but added that this can’t be done at the detriment of the economy.
“One company cannot be strangulated with taxes while the other go fee.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Urey has expressed LoneStar Cell MTN’s commitment to providing quality affordable and effective services and products to Liberians despite the unnecessary criticism. He praised subscribers for the commitment and loyalty to company’s brand.
