Monrovia – President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on last Wednesday dedicated the state-of-the-art Boulevard Palace hotel, a multi-million dollar investment in Liberia officials say testifies that Liberia is safe for investors.
Located between 12th and 13th Streets on Tubman Boulevard in Sinkor and with 105 rooms and suites, the Boulevard Hotel is ideally located, overlooking the entire Sinkor and parts of Central Monrovia.
The hotel is a high-class and comprises a series of paintings and carving made by Liberian artists.
The rooms are accessed by key-card and with an electronic safe for each room as well security camera surveillance for public areas, and latest security and fire protection systems.
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf performed the dedicatory ceremony and carried out the official ribbon-cutting, toured the facility.
Following the dedicatory ceremony, President Sirleaf led an array of senior government officials, including the diplomatic corps, business tycoons, ordinary citizens on a guided tour of the facility to have a fair appreciation of the facility as well encouraged workers, most of whom are Liberians to serve well with commitment.
President Sirleaf was taken on the guided tour by Mr. Salim Halabi, CEO of Boulevard Palace Hotel.
Concluding the tour of the facilities, President Sirleaf unveiled a plaque with the inscription: “Her Excellency Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf President of the Republic of Liberia.”
In his remarks, Vice President Boakai commended the United Methodist Church “for being so gracious to give this property to erect this facility,” and commended Mr. Halabi and team for their confidence to undertake such an investment.
He brought with him his luggage and became one of the first to spend a night in the hotel.
“Besides just the confidence, investment of this size and quality signifies your respect for the country,” Vice President Boakai said of the Lebanese investor.
“For us in Liberia, after the many years you have spent here, you are part of this family; you are part of this country.”
The jammed-packed ceremony was graced by senior government officials, business tycoons, and members of the diplomatic corps, invited guests among others.
Outgoing Deputy Minister Information Minister Isaac Jackson recalled that an assessment was done of the facility after which the Ministry qualified the facility as a five-star hotel.
Minister Jackson: “This state-of-the-art hotel serves as a confirmation of our leader’s pronouncement during the annual messages that Liberia was safe and secured.”
