Zota District, Bong County — A 49-year-old man of Zota District in Bong County, is currently on the run after he was reportedly discovered to have raped and impregnated his 14-year-old daughter.
The alleged sexual abuse took place from December 2020 to April 2020.
The man can’t be named to protect the identity of the victim. The alleged rapist, who is a farmer, approached his daughter while she was in her bed room and allegedly raped her twice last year, family members told the police.
It’s reported that after sexually abusing her and in a bid to buy her silence he threatened to kill her if she ever reported the matter to anyone.
It’s alleged that the girl, who refused to be silenced, told a neighbor of the alleged rape ordeal.
The neighbor then alerted the complainant’s mother. The complainant’s mother reportedly refused to buy the story.
It’s further reported that from that day until sometime in March 2021, when the girl was pregnant, the accused had been raping the girl on several occasions.
The girl reportedly felt helpless as she was always being threatened by the accused and on the other hand by her mother who didn’t believe her.
This April when the girl was heavily pregnant, her mother said she couldn’t believe her eyes when he busted the accused struggling with the girl while trying to rape her.
At the height of the struggle, the mom said, the accused was covering the girl’s mouth with his hand to stop her from screaming for help.
After being busted, the alleged rapist threatened both the girl and her mother with death if they reported him to the police before fleeing to an unknown location.
