Monrovia – Liberia Returnee Network Vocational Training Program, a vocational institution training program established by a group of Liberian professional volunteers who returned from exile (refugee camps) has graduated 106 students, mostly women from its cycle 6th training program.
The institution was founded on January 9, 2015, and it is sponsored by the “Bread for the World” an organization in Berlin, Germany and the Association of Liberian Business in America (ALBA).
The Liberia Returnee Network Vocational Training Program Cycle 6th graduating ceremony was held at the Jubilee Praise Center Edifice on the Old Road.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony the Keynote speaker of the event, the Representative of Montserrado County District #1 Lawrence Morris praised the group of returnee Liberians for what he terms as contributing to society.
“Thanks be to God that we have potential Liberians who have acquired the knowledge and have decided to return to their country and contribute to their motherland,” Representative Morris said.
He called on the graduates to use the skills they have acquired and contribute to society.
“Today mark another milestone in your history. This acknowledgment you have acquired from here today is the best asset that anyone can acquire. This is something that you cannot borrow from somebody neither you can credit or loan it to somebody. It’s an asset that you have acquired and you will take it with you wherever and whenever,” Representative Morris said.
“You have been clothed with certain capacity that you will have to displace to your people in the community, to your country and you can also add value to your motherland. Do not take what you have learned and put it in the closet or sit it down – do something with it -don’t sit down,” he warned the graduates.
Also speaking, the Executive Director of the Liberia Returnee Network Vocational Training Program Tyrone Taigar Marshall says as a professional returnee volunteers group, their desire is to contribute to the rebuilding process of Liberia.
“The vision of these professionals is to train and empower Liberians as entrepreneurs through vocational training, build their capacity, job creation, and change in mindset to contribute to the national growth and development,” Marshall said.
According to him, the school has well trained and qualifies instructors that are skilled in agriculture, beads making, beauty culture, cake decoration, cookery, entrepreneurship development, event decoration, interior decoration, and also pastry making.
