Monrovia – The Liberia Athletics Federation (LAF) will on Saturday, November 24, hold its 60th General Assembly (Congress) at the Liberia National Olympic Committee (LNOC) headquarters on Randall Street, Monrovia at 10:00am.

At least 21 delegates are expected to attend the 2018 LAF Congress to participate in the deliberations for the promotion and development of athletics in the country.

According to a release from the LAF, Saturday’s general assembly will contain a special message from LAF president Mulbah Zaza, the reading and adoption of the 2017 Congress’ minutes and 2018 financial and activity reports, respectively.

Also during congress, delegates are expected to review and adopt the proposed 2019 budget and the 2019 calendar of events and resolution.

During the year under review of 2018, the LAF had two training camps in Liberia with 20 athletes and in the USA with 10 athletes; while head coach Samuel Cooper represented the country at the Delegation Registration Meeting in Nigeria, something the Federation sees as an achievement.

The LAF secured an office space at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex for use as technical office and storage beside her main office at the LNOC. Also, there was a one-day anti-doping workshop and coaches’ clinical.
