Latvian premier League Club FS Metta has signed Barrack Young Controller captain Van-Dave Harmon and Fassell FC winger Sunnyboy Dolo after two weeks of trial.
Striker Harmon, who won the Liberian golden boot in 2017 league, signed a two year contract with the Eastern European side with an option to extend for another year based on his performance.
The former Blue Boys net buster scored a hat track in his first match to convince the technical staff of the club headed by Latvian coach Andris Riherts. Van Dvae added six more goals in four preseason matches.
The powerful striker was presented the club’s number 7 jersey during his signing and unveiling ceremony.
The young Liberian forward is making his second spell out of the country after a loan deal with Dambars FC of Senegal in 2016 before returning to Liberia to capture the golden boot in the first division league of Liberia Football Association.
“We are delighted that the living Legend of our Club Van-Dave has joined FS Metta, is our hope that he defends BYC out of Liberia as he has always done,” said new BYC president, Nathaniel Sherman.
“This is one of the biggest clubs in Latvia and I am delighted to be a part of this amazing team,” added Van-Dave.
“To work with manager Andris Riherts , a former football star who has won so many trophies as a coach, is an opportunity not to be missed.”
“I am here to help take FS Metta to another level, the atmosphere here is great and I love it and feel at home so I will give my hundred percent for the club,” Harmon said.
The former BYC captain recalled that he now has the opportunity to develop since joining the club in 2014 from ELWA United.
Andris said: “Van-Dave will complement our other strikers’ qualities, which we need; his scoring ability and hard work will give us more options to our game.”
Van- Dave scored over 30 goals for BYC in three seasons after joining from ELWA United in 2014.
He has also represented Liberia at the Youth level and senior team score four goals for the Liberia.
On Monday, his elder brother Fitzgerald D. Harmon wrote on his Facebook page congratulating the striker for the move away from Liberia.

We as a family appreciate the level of development and attention given to him during his time with you while in Liberia. We also a big thank you to FS Metta for the trust n confidence, we know with God’s guidance he will give whatever he once give to BYC.”
Also, Van Dave colleague’s Sunnyboy Dolo former club, Nimba United posted on their official page: “Former Nimba United attacker Sunnyboy Dolo, the man whose business the mountaineer was established has signed for Latvian club FC Metta.”
FK Metta is a professional Latvian football club in Riga. As of 2012 they play in the Latvian Higher League. Metta play their home games at the Rīgas Hanzas Vidusskolas Stadium in Riga.
The club was officially founded on May 2, 2006, though the club had been active in youth tournaments since 2000.
In 2007 FS Metta and University of Latvia (Latvijas Universitāte) merged as a senior professional team and participated in the Latvian Championship 1st division (Traffic 1. līga). They finished the season in the 4th position.
