The Vice President of the LPRC-Oilers Sports Association Eddie Harris in an exclusive interview with FrontPage Africa promised fans of the club that they will make a serious comeback in the second phase of the league.

Eddie Harris noted that LPRC-Oilers is going through their bad season which has caused them to drop more points during the first phase, but added that they as officials of the club  are working hard in order to make sure their players perform  up to expectation and deliver the necessary results they need.

“The problems we are face with today started at the end of last season during which time we realized that we need to bring in a new head coach and we quickly carried out  a vetting process among three well known coaches in the country and through that process coach Kollie Krovah was given the job,”  Harris noted.

“He was given the absolute right to go ahead and recruit new players that he wanted which he did without the interference of any of our officials but after four to five games we observed that things were going out of hand so we returned to our drawing board and brought in a new technical team headed by one of our former player and we want them to take the team from the relegation zone.

He continued that even though they have a new technical team, they are still trying to find out the root causes of Oilers poor performance in the league this season during the first phase of the league.

“We are still trying to find out the root causes of this situation we are going through and I can tell you right now that we are doing some serious work on the team because we are now in mid-season so we have started recruiting some youthful players and so our fans can be assured that we are going to make a serious comeback and we are doing everything humanly possible in order for us to escape relegation”.

Harris revealed that they as officials have already met with the entire playing body and they made it clear to them that all they need from them is do all they can in order to maintain their   first division status at the end of the league.

He told FrontPageAfrica that players of the team have   assured the management that they are ready to make the difference.”

“Our basketball team has been performing to our expectation from the start of the season up to the final four stage of the league and we are in the final which shows that indeed we are on course for the championship title.”

He made it clear that LPRC-Oilers basketball team target is not on the ongoing league but for the FIBA Africa zone three competitions because they are presently seated third in African Basketball after finishing as runner up in the zone three competitions.
