Bushrod Island, Montserrado County – A Representative Candidate of Montserrado County District #4 Terence T. Doe says the district will not play a nominal and ceremonial role in national politics under his leadership as Representative of the District.
Terence T. Doe is one of 28 candidates contesting the district for the legislative seat.
Doe said the true meaning of Representative is yet to be experienced by the people of District #4 in Montserrado County.
Speaking on Saturday to thousands of his supporters during his campaign launch in the District, Terence T. Doe said he was overwhelmed by the large gathering of residents of the district.
“My heart swells with gratitude and appreciation for your demonstrated desire to see genuine and transformational change,” Doe noted.
He pledged his commitment to the practice of accountability, transparency, women and youth empowerment, community development and reconciliation.
Terence T. Doe told the audience to be mindful of the kind of choice they make at the ballot box, noting that their votes will determine the level of satiety about the district representation at the Legislature.
Doe, the Movement for Progressive Change candidate said change was extremely necessary to defeat the old order of fake promises and poor representation of the District.
He intoned that if the residents of the District are dissatisfied with the representation than he is the best alternative for genuine change and reconciliation.
The future of our young people is so cardinal to the collective growth of our country. The survival of our marketer cannot be ignored. Infrastructure needs of our district cannot be pushed aside.
Doe argued that the employment of our young people cannot simply be viewed as central government responsibility.
“The decisions to move District #4 on the path of prosperity and sustained unity rest in your hands” he told the voters.
He boasted of being the only candidate in the race that has passion for the growth and development of the Montserrado County Districted #4.
He named the construction of a bridge in Joe-Bar Community, the renovation of the Kaymah Town hall, the construction of a community hall in Cowfield Block-A Community, the rehabilitation of a bridge in new Isreal FDA Community and the electrification of the Du-port Road Central Market as some of his records of being passionate about development.
He told the group of thousands of supporters that economic employment of self-help groups and farmers, the renovation of several intellectual centers, the provision of thousands of gallons of safe drinking water to the Whein Community as some of the development initiatives in the district.
Terence T. Doe said his commitment to developing the district is captured in five pillars namely; Accountability, Transparency, Women and Youth Employment, Community Development and Reconciliation.
He committed to allocate 40-percent of scholarship funds from the district funding or personal to technical and vocational education.
He also vowed to construct a multi-purpose hall that will be equipped with internet for young people to access information.
Terence T. Doe however urged his supporters to remain peaceful until and after the electoral process.
Mr. Doe said violence is never the way to success and as such only peaceful engagement of electorate will win more votes.
