At an elaborated ceremony at the party’s headquarters in Monrovia, Madam Conneh noted that Mr. Cummings is the best candidate that can move Liberia forward; and as such she is coming with her scores of supporters to ensure that the he wins the presidency.
She dispelled the notion that Mr. Cummings chances of winning the nation’s highest seat is slim due to his late entry into the country political arena; noting that the person who comes to your recue often comes at the darkest hour.
Receiving Madam Conneh and her followers, the ANC National Chairman, Lafayette Gould noted that her decision to join the ANC is major milestones in propelling the party to victory come October 10, 2017.
He described Mr. Cummings as the best candidate to liberate Liberians from the dungeon of poverty’ and made a rallying called on all Liberians to follow in the footsteps of Madam Conneh.
“When someone of standing comes to join you with several others, it becomes a holiday for us here at the ANC where everybody becomes somebody.”
“We are extremely overwhelmed with joy. We are so happy to receive all of you. Liberia is at a crossroad.”
“And this is not the dump pile we are talking about.”
“It is our country. We need to elect the best person to take us from this dungeon of poverty that we find ourselves in day after day.”
“We have checked and checked and the best suitable candidate for this job is Mr. Alexander Cummings,” he avowed.
He asserted that with the wave of support coming the ANC’s way, coupled with the support of the silent majority’, the party is poised to win outright at the October polls.
“Many people talk about second round. But Madam Konneh the way your doing the thing now, I think there will be no second round oh,” Gould said in the local Liberia English.
Our detractors say the man is too good, but he is new; but as Madam Conneh said the person who comes to rescue you often comes in the darkest hour.”
Also speaking, the wife of the ANC’s Presidential Candidate, Mrs. Teresa Cummings thanked Madam Konneh for pledging her support and echoed Chairman Gould’s assertion that with Madam Konneh’s huge devoted supporters on board, the Executive Mansion is surely in her husband’s and the ANC’s reach.
I thank Mother Aisha Konneh for her support. We welcome you and your people to help us to win this thing. I don’t know whether you heard the number she was calling (Madam Konneh’s supporters). But to me it sounds like we have won this thing.
“We welcome each and every one of you; as it is said that everybody is somebody in the ANC so it is going to take all of us to get to the mansion and with your help, your votes and your support, we already have the numbers and we are there,” she noted.
Madam Konneh joined veteran Liberian politician and former CDC Standard Bearer Cllr. Winston Tubman, who a fortnight ago pledged his support to the Presidential bid of the former Coca Cola Executive.
The Alternative National Congress (ANC) is a breakaway of the Congress for Democratic Change, Liberia’s biggest opposition party.”
“It is headed by retired Coca Cola Executive Alexander Cummings who many believe could be a good President; but because of his late entry into the political spectrum, his chances of winning the October polls are slim.
However, Mr. Cummings continues to garner more support since the Presidential debate organized by the Deepening Democracy Coalition (DDC). His direct appeal and engagement with voters, couple with his success at Coca Cola, has won the hearts of many Liberians who have grown disillusioned by the actions of their government and other hard lined politicians.
