The 33-year-old man was arrested by the Liberia National Police and charged with the crimes of criminal conspiracy and impersonation in the Caldwell Community of Montserrado County.
According to the police charge sheet, David, aged 33, was arrested on April 5, 2024, and reminded of his constitutional and Miranda rights, something he waived and acquiesced to during the investigation.
The police charge sheet stated that in February 2024, suspect David engaged in a dubious act by presenting a fake letter to his victim, claiming to have been appointed as Deputy Director General for the Administration of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority by President Joseph Nyumah Boakai.
The LNP charge sheet further revealed that suspect David duped his victim, Emmanuel Tokpah, by collecting cash in the form of credit under the pretense of offering them a job. During the police investigation, it was established that Jordan David committed the act and was charged with criminal conspiracy, impersonating an officer, theft of property, and forgery.
The criminal conspiracy violates Chapter 10, Section 10.4; impersonation violates Chapter 12, Subchapter B, Section 12.35; theft of property violates Chapter 15, Subchapter D, Section 15.52; and forgery of documents violates Chapter 15, Subchapter E, Section 15.70 of the Revised Penal Code of the Republic of Liberia.
The police investigation further established that Jordan David was a former employee of NAFAA who was dismissed for stealing an outboard engine and fishing nets in 2022. Jordan is said to have willingly, knowingly, purposefully, and with the intent to commit the crime conspired with others who are yet to be identified to prepare a false appointment letter from President Boakai. Defendant Jordan David has been charged and forwarded to court awaiting the final court trial.
