Monrovia – Liberia’s Vice President, Chief/ Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, is today, July 5, 2018, in London, United Kingdom, as the Special Honored Guest at the 2018 African Achievers International Lectures & Award ceremonies.
The Award ceremony takes place at the British House of Parliament in London this evening, bringing together scores of African leaders, young achievers, community builders, as well is industry gurus from across the African Continent.
According to a release from the VP’s office, Vice President Howard-Taylor, who will perform the distinct role as Keynote Speaker, will also be adorned with the high Award for EXCELLENCE IN PUBLIC OFFICE AND COMMUNITY IMPACT.
In her keynote address, the release noted that the Liberian Stateswoman will discuss the theme, “Girl Child’s Right to Education: A Case for Africa.”
The African Awards Ceremony has become one of the biggest gatherings of influential and global African achievers on the continent and has been rated by Forbes Magazine as one of the most prestigious award ceremonies on the African continent.
Key among African personalities who have received awards at its ceremonies are towering South African Clergyman, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Former Tanzanian President JakayaKikwete, the late former Ghanaian President Professor Attah Mills, and Deputy Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Dr. Josephine Ojiambo.
The awards ceremonies will be climaxed with exclusive dinner for award recipients and special guests at the Westminster Hilton in London.
While in London, VP Howard Taylor will interact with the Liberian Community as well as engage government, business industry, and charitable institutions to boost interest in and support for assisting Liberia in advancing the letter and spirit of the Government’s Pro Poor Agenda.
