Accra, Ghana – In fulfillment of his commitment towards youth empowerment and the promotion of religious initiatives, on Friday November 24, 2017, Senator George Weah, Standard Bearer of the Coalition for Democratic Change, CDC, sponsored a 35-member youth choir to Ghana on a Gospel and sight-seeing expedition.
The Choir, under the banner Heavenly Melody, was established on July 9, 2013 and was officially launched on December 20, 2014.
Senator Weah who served as the chief patron of the group during its inception, initially donated L$100,000 as contribution towards its establishment and promised to sponsor them to Ghana on a gospel and sight-seeing expedition.
On Friday, Senator Weah fulfilled that promise by accompanying the group to Ghana.
While in Ghana, the group visited the (Jesus Is Lord) church in East Legon, Accra, where they performed several gospel renditions and showcased the Liberian way of Worship.
As part of the trip, the group was taken around Accra and its environs where they were privileged to have visited several historical sites such as the Accra Mall, the slave castle in Cape Coast, and other historical sites within Ghana.
