Monrovia – The New Board of the John F. Kennedy Medical Center has reacted sharply to recent fraud allegation at the institution, noting that it is confident in the ability of the current management team to oversee the operation of the hospital, promising the administration of its support aim at achieving the necessary goal.
A statement issued by institution Tuesday registered that the current JFK Administration is carrying out key activities in Health Services, namely, eye care and securing dialysis and basic cancer treatment.
The communication also revealed that the administration has upgraded diagnostic services including MRI and CT scan with the aim at reaching international benchmark.
“The JFK Team is also making frantic effort in the recruitment of specialists, infrastructure and has completed the accreditation of TNIMA,” the statement mentioned.
More besides, the communication added that JFK Administration is currently carrying out major renovation, both internally and externally as part its effort to better the infrastructure look of the center.
At the same time, the communication reported that new JFK board has set-up three separate committees, namely Finance, Administration and Human Resource Program and Medical Services, charged with the responsibility to carry out a critical analysis of the JFK operations and provides expert advice to the board in reforming of the center.
Meanwhile, a strategic improvement plan has been developed for the JFK which lays out key activities to be achieved in areas such as governance and leadership, infrastructure improvement, Human resources, diagnostic services and quality service delivery for patients.
Moreover, the statement said, “besides, a revised Act for the center has been passed by the Legislature. This ACT now serves as a guide for the new board and the JFK management Team in ensuring that the institution serves as an effective referral and training hospital.”
The revelation was made following a meeting held in Monrovia by the new Board of Directors appointed recently by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for the John F. Kennedy Medical Center.
During the meeting, the JFK Administration reportedly briefed the board about its current operations including the recent fraud, ongoing activities and issues constantly appearing in the media about JFK.
