Suehn Mecca District, Bomi County – The International Children Alert-incorporated (ICA) has identified with dozens of children, mostly underprivileged kids in Suehn Mecca District, Bomi County.
ICA distributed copy books, book bags and toys, among others to the children as part of its year end giveaway.
ICA which goal is to reduce the death by at least 10 percent every year through its monthly care package that consists of food, medical supplies and clothes held it second county seasonal festival with less fortunate children from across the district.
ICA Program Coordinator, Zoe Yarwhere, in her overview statement said the organization was established on January 13, 2011 by passionate young Liberian women with the focus of helping and monitoring children from four to 16 years.
Ms. Yarwhere said the mission of ICA is to help sustain the lives of Liberian and needy children in remote areas with education and safe drinking water.
According to her, the organization, since its inception has made a significant impact on the lives of needy children.
Some of its activities, she added include the promotion of health and personal hygiene awareness, awareness on the importance of education and helping adolescent discover their dreams.
In a special message from ICA Founder, Quinenette Siah Mbakellah who is based in the United States, revealed plans to establish ICA headquarters in the district to be fully grounded render more services to the people, especially the children.
Ms. Mbakellah said her organization was pleased to share the love, care and gifts with children, as in so doing demonstrated their commitments to giving back to the community.

She thanked the parents for leaving the surrounding communities to honor their invitation to celebrate with the kids and make them smile again.
The program which was held under theme, “Put a smile on a child’s face” brought together to over 200 children in Suehn Mecca District, Bomi County.
The day-long event was characterized by games, fun, and refreshments.
